Kenmore Dryer Error Codes
PF
Press the Start button to restart the cycle or Stop to end it in order to reset the appliance. If you receive this code frequently, check if the dryer power cord or mains socket is damaged.
F01
Try unplugging the dryer from the mains for at least 5 minutes and then plug it back in. If the problem persists, you may need to purchase a new main electronic control unit. Request Service
F02
When a button on one of the two keypad panels is jammed, this code lights up. Try to free the stuck key. If this fails, replace the damaged keypad. Request Service
F20
In this situation, you are dealing with a faulty heater relay on the main electronic control unit of the dryer. Disconnect the dryer from the mains and replace the faulty main electronic control unit with a new one. Request Service
F22 or F23
Check the sensor’s resistance after disconnecting the dryer. The tester ought to display 10,000 ohms or so. You must replace the outlet thermal sensor with a new one if it is broken. Request Service
F24 or F25
The main unit recognizes an open input temperature sensor when you get this error code. Check the sensor resistance after turning off the dryer. The tester should show 50,000 ohms or so. Replace the output temperature sensor with a new one if it is broken. Request Service
F28
Check the wires leading to the humidity sensor and all its connections by trying to disconnect the dryer from the washing machine. If everything is in working order, a new humidity sensor must be installed. Request Service
F29
Examine the wire leading to the moisture sensor and all of its connections by attempting to detach the dryer. If everything is in working order, you will need to replace the malfunctioning moisture sensor with a new one. Request Service
F30
If the lint filter on the machine is clogged, check it and clean it. The accumulation of fabric softener on the sheets can also cause this filter to clog. In this situation, you will need to use water to rinse the screen and a soft bristle brush to clean it to remove the deposits. The next thing to do is to check your home’s external exhaust ventilation system. If you find that it is blocked by something, consider removing it as best you can. Request Service
F70 or F71
Try disconnecting the dryer from the power supply. Check that the connections on both units are secure by looking at the wiring harness connecting the keypad control unit to the main electronic control unit. If you find no problems with the wiring and connections, we strongly recommend that you call a repair technician to inspect your unit and determine the source of the fault. The technician will determine which component of your appliance needs to be replaced. Request Service
From F72 to F78
The dryer should be disconnected from the power supply. Check for breaks in the wiring harness that connects the two keypad control units and their connectors. Then check the connections in the wiring harness that connects the main electronic control unit and the keypad assembly. If both harnesses are good, you may need to purchase new keypad control units for one or both of them. Request Service
